CommunityPass: Changing How Recreation & School Management Works
Capturepoint can trace the roots of CommunityPass, the industry leading recreation and school management software, back to 2002 when volunteers heading their town’s Sports Council found themselves with an enormous challenge: Kids were signing up for athletic programs in record numbers but the Council became overwhelmed with processing the hundreds of paper registration forms submitted. Tapped out of volunteers to handle the volume of submissions, they hired people to help do the job but the costs eventually became too high. Knowing there had to be a way to make the process easier and with an eye on online registration options, they turned to the software developers at Capturepoint to come up with a solution.
The result was CommunityPass, an innovative software program that enables individuals and families to access registration to all of the participating organizations in town through a single account on one website. From pool memberships and camp registrations to sports sign-ups, before and after care programs and adult education classes, through this system, all of a family’s core information is stored, enabling them to go in at any point to register and pay for programs quickly, easily and securely. “Why was every family filling out and sending in the same basic information time after time when signing up for programs?” says Capturepoint’s Founder Joe Oriente. “With CommunityPass all of their basic information is in their account and available for every activity they want to enroll in. It’s finally all in one place.”
Over the years, CommunityPass has grown tremendously, serving parks and recreation organizations and schools all across the country.
